Indian offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin will miss the second Test in Perth starting tomorrow due to injury.
Ashwin has an abdominal sprain on his left side.
Batsman Rohit Sharma will also miss the match with a lower back injury sustained during the Adelaide Test.
Ashwin was a key component in India’s first Test win, taking three wickets in both innings and constantly threatening Australia’s left handed batsman.
The BCCI says batsman Prithvi Shaw is recovering well from an ankle injury he copped in the warm up match against a Cricket Australia XI but would not be available for selection in Perth.
