UPDATE 1.50PM : People who live in Cocoroc, Mambourin and Manor are being asked to evacuate, due to a bush fire at Little River which is not yet under control.

The warning is current until 4pm.

Water bombing aircraft has been called in and at least one building has been lost.

Evacuations are take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger. 

If you are travelling, do not enter the area. U-turn to safety.

Slow down and turn on your headlights. Smoke will make it difficult to see.

It is strongly recommended that you Evacuate Now if you are located in Cocoroc, Mambourin, Manor.

  • There is a grassfire at LittleRiver that is not yet under control.
  • This fire is travelling in a south-easterly direction towards Manor Road.

If you are located in Mambourin or Manor you should evacuate now.  

What you should do:

Evacuate Now:

  • When you leave remember to take your pets medications, mobile phone and charger.
  • If you are away from home; do not return.
  • If you choose to stay, emergency services may not be able to help you. 

RELIEF CENTRE: 

Centenary Hall Corner of Cox Road and Melbourne Road

1-9 Cox Road, Norlane Vic

Travel to a safer location. Options include:

  • A Relief Centre is located at Centenary Hall, Corner of Cox Rd and Princes Highway. It will open as of 2pm.
  • The home of family or friends away from the warning area.

In the car:

  • This warning is current to 07/12/2018 04:00 pm. Evacuation after this time is considered life threatening. After 07/12/2018 04:00 pm it may be too late to leave, take shelter when the fire arrives - protect yourself from the radiant heat.

    If you are unable to leave shelter indoors:

    • Close all exterior doors, windows and vents.
    • Turn off cooling systems.
    • Shelter in a room that has a door and or a window to the outside. It is critical to keep an eye on what is happening with the fire.

    Impacts in your area:

    • Grassfires can start and spread quickly and are extremely dangerous.
    • Grassfires can generate extreme heat. Heat will kill you before the flames reach you.
