The warmer weather has encouraged Toowoomba locals to leave the taps on a bit longer.
Over the past week household use has significantly increased from 180 to 222 litres per day.
Council is sending out a reminder for locals that the area is currently on water restrictions.
The dam is sitting at 53% and the prediction is that we will reach 40% this time next year if we don’t receive any substantial rainfall.
If we reach that level, then pumping from Wivenhoe Dan will take place to ensure we have good water security.
