A ride share driver has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a female passenger at Southport this week.
It is alleged the 25-year-old Miami man drove a 21-year-old woman from Broadbeach to a home Southport around 2am on Tuesday April 2, before waiting a few minutes and breaking in through an unlocked door.
Police claim he then sexually assaulted the woman in a bedroom, before she was able to fight him off, alerting the other people sleeping inside.
The man then allegedly fled the scene.
Detectives eventually tracked him down and charged him the following day, he was facing one count of burglary and four counts of sexual assault.
He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on April 17.
