Roo Reveals How Much He Was Offered To Play For West Adelaide As A 12-Year-Old

Mark Ricciuto has revealed this morning he was offered three grand to play for West Adelaide as a 12-year-old.

Speaking on his Triple M Adelaide breakfast show, Roo & Ditts, former Adelaide Crows legends Mark Ricciuto let drop that as a junior footballer he was sent a $3000 by West Adelaide to try and coax him into playing for them.

Roo said this was back in 1987, so $3000 would have made a lot of difference for his family, but his dad made Roo knock back the money.

Of course Roo eventually went on to play for West Adelaide, taking out their Best First Year Player award and winning himself a slick Boombox.
