Rory Sloane has revealed on Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie that former co-captain Tex Walker had been considering the decision to step down "for a bit".

Walker stepped down from the Adelaide co-captaincy on Wednesday arvo, ending a five-year tenure leading the Crows.

His fellow 2019 co-captain joined Jars and Louie and elaborated on what went on behind the scenes with Walker and the decision and what lies ahead for Adelaide's captaincy.

"I thanked him, first of all, because he has done a terrific job. He's led us through some hard times," he told Triple M.

"It won't change who he is as a bloke and who he is as a person."
