UFC legend Anderson Silva has explained that, when he steps in the cage, he isn't actually thinking about beating his opponent.

The 43-year-old joined Triple M's The Rush Hour with MG on Thursday evening ahead of his bout with Israel Adesanya at UFC 234, where he laughed at the suggestion that MMA is violent.

"American football is violent! Rugby is violent!" "The Spider" Silva said, before going on to explain exactly what the sport means for him.

In an epic chat, Silva also spoke about how it feels to be within reaching distance of being champion again, what he thinks of being called the "GOAT" and finished by pulling out what we're calling the greatest Rocky impression of all time.

"In the same as Rocky says, 'Paulie, I have this fight now'," Spida riffed.

"Paulie say, 'Rocky, just beat this guy!'"
