Safety fears at one of Sydney's busiest train stations are finally being addressed.
Redfern Station is getting a major upgrade to reduce overcrowding platforms and to make it compliant with federal laws, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
The $100 million project will see lifts installed at all platforms, alongside new stairs, and a long footbridge, all of which will provide better accessibility for disabled commuters and parents with prams.
Transport Minister Andrew Constance says the upgrade will be a "huge step forward".
"By making the station accessible, we'll be supporting the current and expected growth in the precinct." he said.
