Sam Jacobs says he'll relish the pressure of having to compete with Reilly O'Brien for a spot at the Crows, saying it puts the Crows in a "really good position".

Jacobs returned to AFL level last weekend after being sidelined for most of the season, with O'Brien asserting himself as Adelaide's ruckman.

The veteran spent time in the SANFL, with O'Brien becoming hard to dislodge.

Jacobs told Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie it puts the Crows in a great spot.

"He's done a fantastic job this year, Reilly, absolutely," he said.

"I think we're in a really good position having two guys who are AFL-ready ruckmen to keep putting pressure on each other."
