The final preference distribution for the seat of Ripon has been counted by the Victorian Electoral Commission for the 2018 Victorian election.

After 40029 formal votes, Labor candidate Sarah De Santis claimed a 31 vote margin over incumbent Liberal MP Louise Staley - a margin of 0.04 per cent

It represents a swing of 0.8 per cent to the Labor party following the 2014 election.

The VEC will decide if a vote recount is needed for the electorate before December 14th given it is the most marginal seat in the state and if Staley challenges the result.

It follows the results in the rest of the Central Victorian seats which saw the incumbents returned in Bendigo East, Bendigo West, Macedon and Murray Plains.
