Greater Western Sydney has today confirmed that co-captain Callan Ward suffered an injury to his anterior crucial ligament in yesterday’s huge win over Geelong.
Ward left the ground five minutes into yesterday’s game after twisting his knee in a tackle.
GWS General Football Manager Wayne Campbell spoke this afternoon, highlighting the impact that this will have not only on game day but also off the field.
“This is obviously devastating news for Callan who is a tremendous leader of our club.
“His character and leadership of the club is highly valued and I have no doubt he’ll continue to play a very important role in the coming months.”
