Scientists Attempted To Send The Entire Wikipedia Collection To The Moon

Didn't go to plan

Scientists have attempted to send the entire Wikipedia collection to the moon.

However, things didn't exactly go according to plan.

The Arch Mission Foundation assembled a library of 30,000 books, 5,000 languages, plus a complete backup of Wikipedia onto a collection of metal disks.

This was in an attempt to store "vital information", just incase anything happened to planet Earth.

Although the carrier housing this collection, the Israeli Beresheet probe, crashed into the lunar surface at over 450km/h, smashing into pieces.

Yet, not all hope is technically lost with the metal disks supposedly "indestructible" and could still be out there, somewhere.
