With the AFL Season just around the corner, Basil Zempilas and Xavier Ellis chat to 2021 Fremantle Dockers Best and Fairest winner, Sean Darcy, for an inside scoop on the team this morning on 92.9 Triple M Breakfast.

"It's an exciting part of the year, knowing where you stand, how much work you've done in the pre-season and off-season."

Ranking in Xavier Ellis' top 3 ruckman in the AFL competition, Sean explains the improvement in his game came from consistency.

"I had a really big pre-season too... I did my knee, so I had to get everything right, I had to get everything strong again."

With Fremantle Dockers holding some of AFL's greatest players like Nat Fyfe, Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong, there are hopes for them to secure top 8 in the 2022 season.

"Everyone's really driven, everyone’s working really hard to be the best players we could possibly be."

Swooping in from Cobden, Victoria, Sean Darcy is not the only star from the small, country town with it being known for being the breeding ground for unbelievable AFL footballers.

"We got Zach Merrett, Gary Rohan, Ben Cunnington and Sam Walsh."

Declining an offer to go home, Sean admits he has settled into Perth and is now studying a Bachelor of Commerce at Curtin University.

"I like the group, I just bought a house over here as well, so I feel like I'm pretty settled over here."

Missing out on finals in the 2021 AFL Season, Fremantle Dockers are determined prove to their supporters that they will bring their all this season.

"I think we were a bit inconsistent last year...so this year we want to be really consistent every week, so you know what you’re going to get from us"
