Lotto officials say there are 20 division one prizes yet to be claimed across Australia.

The amount of unclaimed money totals $25 million, and it could belong to anyone in Australia.

Matt Hart from The Lott is encouraging all Aussies to check old tickets, or any places they might still have tickets lying around, hiding behind a fridge magnet or stashed in the glove box.

Half of the prize winners bought tickets in Queensland, with their winnings totalling $7.4 million.

$1.5 million of prizes is still be claimed in WA, with tickets being purchased in Gwelup, Willetton, Fremantle, and Kelmscott.

New South Wales has $3 million of unclaimed wins, the biggest winner from NSW purchasing a ticket from Winston Hills Newsagency worth $1.14 million.

ACT is home to one of the biggest winners, with $4.5 million of prize winnings still going unclaimed.

Although the winners in Victoria and South Australia are in a race against the clock to find their winning tickets, they must claim their prizes before they expire next month.

The Victorian winner is sitting on a win worth $4.5 million, they purchased the Set for Life ticket at Echuca Square Lotto in April, and a South Australian winner who bought their ticket at Naracoorte newsXpress has $1.1 million in winnings just waiting to be claimed.

If the tickets remain unclaimed, the winnings will be handed to the Government of each state.
