Pull those clam pools out.. the heat is here to stay in Cairns for the rest of the week.
While we suffer through some high temperatures of 37+, a brief thunderstorm won't give us too much relief on Friday.
The Bureau says we will see temps climb back up to the mid 30s from the start of next week.
We all know the drill when it comes to heat- but make sure you're checking in on your elderly neighbours, giving your pets plenty to drink and don't leave your kids in the car, even for a brief few minutes.
Queensland Ambulance Service Clinical Director Tony Huckel spoke to us and said it's also important to check in on yourself.
He's urging us to drink plenty of water throughout the day and try to keep out of the sun as much as possible.
Now, it's time to go get seatbelt burn and swear at the steering wheel for being so HOT.
Let us know how you keep cool in the comments.
