Perth awoke to some less than good news, with the legend that is John Farnham announcing that he won't be able to play the forthcoming By The C concert series.

You know, the one at Cottesloe Beach on April 7.

According to the press release, John has suffered a recent illness and he's still in the throes of recovery.

If this tweet is anything to go by, then things sound like they're pretty serious.

We regret to announce that the forthcoming By The C Concerts with John Farnham, which were to be held at Queen Elizabeth Park, Coolangatta, on Saturday March 16; Leura Park Estate Geelong on Sunday March 17; Cottesloe Beach Perth on Sunday April 7; and Stuart Park, Wollongong on Sunday April 14th, have been cancelled.

This is due to John's recent illness from which he is still recovering. We wish John all the very best for a speedy recovery.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR EXISTING TICKETHOLDERS:

We’re sure you’re just as disappointed as us, but we want to help you get your money back quickly… If you booked online, over the phone or at a Ticketmaster outlet with a credit card, Ticketmaster will send the funds back to the credit card you used to purchase the tickets. It can take some time to process, so please give them up to 10 business days to process your refund before you start to worry.

We know credit card info can change, so if your original card has expired or is no longer valid (Ticketmaster Giftcard, prepaid Visa and Mastercard included), you’ll need to get in touch with our friendly Customer Service Team by clicking here to submit a refund request. Click here.

Please contact Ticketmaster by 5pm on 14th March to advise whether you'd like to receive your refund via cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer.

If you stopped into a Ticketmaster outlet to buy your tickets using cash or EFTPOS, you’ll need to swing by one more time with the tickets, and the EFTPOS card used if applicable, to make the booking. The outlet staff will help you with your refund.

Please note, only the Ticketmaster account holder who purchased the ticket(s) can seek a refund via the methods outlined above. If you received your ticket(s) any other way, including via “Ticket Forward”, you will need to contact the original ticket buyer as the refund will be applied to the original purchasers account.

Thanks again.

We don't need to say it as it's obviously implied... but we will anyway. Here's all the best to you John Farnham, for a speedy recovery!
