Shock Brimson Switch on the Cards as Titans Make Brutal Cull
THE RUSH HOUR QUEENSLANDER WITH DOBBO
The Titans are building for the future and the only way is forward. This however has meant some brutal calls at the expense of the careers of some fan favourites.
Six players including Ash Taylor, Tyrone Peachey and Mitch Rein have officially been let go of by the club. The former departing after 114 games over six seasons, at times struggling to shoulder the ‘million-dollar man’ tag while battling a string of injuries.
Speaking on The Rush Hour Queenslander with Dobbo Gold Coast chairman Dennis Wats expressed his sadness at saying goodbye to so many faces but offered up positivity to Titans fans at the possibilities that lie ahead.
“They are difficult conversations because they are part of your family”
“Toby Sexton will be the starting halfback next year. He’s ready to go”
The shake-up would then see another key position change with AJ Brimson set to find a new place in the line-up.
The Titans returned to finals for the first time since 2015 this year only to be eliminated by the Roosters in heartbreaking fashion on the weekend. Watts echoed Gorden Tallis’ sentiments that thirteen wins will be the required pass mark in season 2022.
