This morning Poppy and Leigh spoke to Gino Vumbaca from Pill Testing Australia to find out what they do, how recent trials have gone, and whether pill testing will move into NSW.

He explained what happens when drugs are brought to them for testing at festivals, and the information they provide before people of all ages decide to consume drugs.

"The first message we give them is that no drug use is safe. There are inherent risks in any drug they're about to consume... If they're intent on consuming the drug... then we'll give them a lot more information about what it is they're about to consume, what the impact on their health will be, and what the risks are. And the last message we give them is if you do take this drug, and there is a problem, to seek help immediately."

Gino also responded to claims that pill testing encourages people to take drugs, rather than discouraging it.
