Silk Air will be increasing their flights from Cairns to Hong Kong.

We had a huge blow to our international tourism market with Cathay Pacific announcing they'd be pulling their Hong Kong to Cairns flights after 26 years. 

But Silk Air has confirmed they'll be ramping theirs up- with daily services to and from Hong Kong expected to begin by next month. 

China Southern airlines also confirming they'd suspend flights for 6 months this year, after upping direct flights between the months of Guangzhou to Cairns from December last year to February this year. 

Cairns MP Michael Healy says they're working with a number of stakeholders to try and find a solution to get Cathay Pacific back flying to the tropics.
