Snake Bites Are On The Rise In The Region

Another local has been taken to Mackay Base Hospital for treatment after a snakebite in the Whitsundays. The woman was bitten at an address on Acacia Drive. Queensland Ambulance Service said she was treated for injuries to her and then flown to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition via rescue helicopter, The Daily Mercury reported. Mackay Base Hospital Spokesperson said there had been an increase of suspected snake bites in the past few months.
