South Townsville Saltie Has Locals On The Lookout

Locals will be keeping an extra eye out for eyes on the water, after the sighting of a saltie. 

The saltwater croc which has been described as being up to 4 metres long has been spotted in South Townsville.  

The reptile was hanging around off the Townsville Recreational Boating Park on Saturday arvo.  

King tides from Thursday-Saturday night in the area may have had the snapper on the move. 

On the Australia Day long weekend this year a Kirwan family discovered a baby saltie in their pool. 

It's believed the baby was dropped their by bird flying over the property.
