Southern Downs Regional Council Engages Legal Representation
"We don't want to end up in court"
Southern Downs Regional Council has engaged legal counsel to potentially bring legal action against GrainX to deal with outstanding matters in relation to the operation of the facility, particularly with regard to noise and dust.
Mayor Tracy Dobie says she hopes this matter doesn’t end up in court:
“We definitely do not want this matter to end up in court. I think no one wants that to happen as at the end of the day that can be expensive for everyone.
We also have to bear in mind that at Council we are representing our rate payers. I don’t think we want to see rate payer money being spent on costly court costs.”
