Southern Downs Weather Report: Thunderstorms Impacting SEQ

After a tumultuous weekend across south-east Queensland, the southern downs is expected to arrive again on the Southern Downs region.

There's a severe weather warning for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the region, along with several hail sightings.

"Rain is coming down in very isolated areas, can be coming down very, very quickly," Lee explained on the morning show.

Jonathon from the Bureau of Meteorology joined the broadcast to provide a report on the conditions.

"This morning we've seen heavy rainfall from about Warwick up to Toowoomba very big rainfall totals in excess of 70-80 millimetres," Jonathon said.

Jonathon added that the Darling Downs will see "general thunderstorms continue right through the weekend".

Lee touched on a brief, but simple message: "If it is flooded, forget it".
