The red Holden utility has been seized by Police

Two Southwest men have been charged over a violent road rage incident in Leschenault on Sunday September 30.

At around 5.38pm the driver of a red Holden utility allegedly began to pursue a silver Toyota Corolla on Old Coast Road and Forrest Highway.

The incident was filmed and live streamed on Facebook, showing the driver allegedly committing several traffic offences. The video also showed the passenger smashing the driver’s window of the Toyota Corolla with a baseball bat, whilst both cars were still being driven at high speed.

As a result, a 21 year old man (driver) from Leschenault was charged with:

• Being armed in a way that may cause fear
• Criminal Damage
• Reckless Driving
• Driver using mobile phone

A 20 year old man (passenger) from Australind was charged with:

• Being armed in a way that may cause fear
• Criminal Damage
• Passenger failing to wear seatbelt
• Passenger Body or limbs protruding from vehicle

The red Holden utility and other items related to these offences have been seized by Police.

Both men will appear in the Bunbury Magistrate’s Court at a later date.
