A man stabbed on Saturday morning in South Grafton has now died in hospital, while another man has had his charges upgraded to murder.
Officers from Coffs Clarence Police District have been told the two men were arguing in the Gardenia Way home about 3:40am on Saturday, when one was allegedly stabbed twice in the abdomen.
The 28 year old man from Eatonsville was treated at the scene before being taken to Grafton Hospital, then flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
About 8pm on Sunday night, the man died in hospital.
A 33 year old South Grafton man who was arrested a short time after the incident was taken to Grafton Police Station where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Those charges have been upgraded to murder.
He is expected to appear at Grafton Local Court on Monday 7 January 2019.
