Melbourne recruit Steven May will miss part of the JLT Community Series as well as the AFLX tournament later this month after straining his hamstring.
TOM BROWNE BREAKS THE STORY ON THE HOT BREAKFAST:
The 27-year-old, who joined Melbourne in last year's trade period, will miss "three to four weeks" with the hamstring strain.
“Steven May suffered a slight hamstring strain during training,” Melbourne general manager of football and operations Mahoney told Melbourne Media.
“This is likely to restrict him for three to four weeks and most likely our first JLT game.
“We expect him to be available for JLT two in his preparation for Round 1."
Mahoney believes May will be ready for the AFL season once he recovers.
“We are confident that Steven completed a large portion of the pre-season sessions prior to this setback which provides a strong base leading into the season.”
