Residents at an aged care facility in the Sutherland Shire has gone into lockdown after a staff member tests positive to Covid-19.

The Palms Facility at Kirrawee has banned visitors and all non-essential staff, placed all residents into isolation and treated as close contacts of the staff member "out of an abundance of caution".

All residents have been vaccinated, with 85% of staff at the facility fully vaccinated.

NSW Health has issued its latest list of venues of concern, with hundreds of Sydney shoppers forced into 14 days of isolation after two major supermarkets were added to the list of Covid hotspots.

A staff member at Woolworths Belrose on the North Shore is suspected of working over multiple days between July 10 and July 20 while infectious.

A Covid alert has also been issued for Star City Supermarket in Merrylands between the 12-15 July.
