SOUTH WEST FOOTBALL LEAGUE

After so much has been talked about Bunbury losing the four points from their Round 1 win, focus now turns to a great test in Round 2 of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Football League.

The Bulldogs will travel to Brunswick Oval to take on one of their fancied teams of 2019, Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.

Coach Jamie Nani excited about the challenge this weekend, especially tackling their forward line.

"They've recruited well with a couple of talls and players returning," said Nani.

"Obviously (Taine Williams) coming up and kicking 6 goals in the first game, so it's not just (Kristin) Thornton you have to worry about, it's some of the young kids as well."

The other stand out game of Round 2 will see the Eaton Boomers hosting Carey Park at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday afternoon.

No doubt the highlight last week was Jarrod Humphries for the Boomers kicking 10 goals.

However, it was a dominant team display with Brandon Jetta, Josh Bowe and Karl Collard all playing great games.

The surprise packet in Round 1 was Carey Park, who shocked many with a 21 point win over Donnybrook.

Jaxon Bell, Zane Verhaaf and Jeff Carter providing plenty of run across the ground.

It will be this weekend's clash with Eaton which will show us whether the Panters are indeed in the hunt in 2019.

Last year's premiers Imperials will be on the road to start their year, taking on Kojonup.

Following their loss last week, Deanmill will be back at home taking on Boyup Brook.

While Tigers will be hoping to make it two from two, heading to Pemberton to play Southerners.

Tigers coach Paul Starkie surprised with the opening round win.

"A bit out of the bag, really. The boys ran well, the forwards worked hard and it clicked," said Starkie.
