The AFL have made a decision surrounding the upcoming match between Sydney and Port Adelaide, with the Swans provided an exemption to fly into South Australia.

Border closure is expected to come into play as New South Wales deals with an escalating COVID situation.

Permission was ticked off by South Australia health as a travel exemption for the Swans, they will plan for a fly-in, fly-out mission.

Sydney arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday, they will quarantine in the city and will abide by a ‘framework’ of conditions similar to what Victorian clubs faced in the past fortnight.

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens says the "rigorous" process of a charter bus, strict movements and testing will come into play for any club that enters the state of South Australia.

The watertight parameters will ensure the round 15 contest will go ahead at Adelaide Oval, which is set to be moved from the 7:40pm to the twilight time slot.

A change in scheduling is set to shuffle all Saturday games around, with Collingwood-Fremantle’s game in Melbourne to be played earlier, while Essendon-Melbourne will become the standalone Saturday night match.

Sixteen new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the Harbour City, with ten infections linked to one event.
