Swap Empty Drinks For Cash On The Gold Coast

Gold Coasters can now earn a few bucks just by recycling.

Reverse vending machines are rolling out across the City today, including the TOMRA facility in Varsity Lakes.

Marketing Director Martin Walters says there's a few ways you can swap your cans and bottles for cash.

"A reverse vending machine is what it sounds like, instead of actually putting money and getting containers out, you put containers in and get money out," said Mr Walters.

"We have a bag drop, drop and go facility and for businesses, charities and community groups we also have bulk sorting capabilities."
