Ian and Janine of Janine's Cake Art have made the tough decision to close their doors at the end of the month.
The Townsville favourite will not continue their business after March, announcing the news on Facebook last night.
"Sadly due to ongoing health considerations, Ian and Janine have made the heartbreaking decision to close Janine’s Cake Art as at the end of March 2019, a decision which has been accelerated by the recent rain event."
The post went on to explain what will happen to current bookings.
"All cakes booked in prior to and including March 23rd, 2019 will be baked and decorated as ordered. All bookings after March 23rd will be cancelled and arrangements made for the return of deposits. All people involved will be contacted in the coming days."
The family would like to extend their thanks to their customers, especially those who have supported them for years.
"For those who have returned Year in year out and let us have the privilege to watch your children grow, for those who have become friends and for those who carved a special memory in our hearts......we are so grateful....Thank you."
