What do a farmer, a couple of primary teachers, a State Title winning shooter, a cellar door manager, a high school
teacher, an Aria Award winner & a midwife have in common?

Answer - This group will kick up their heels in a bid to be crowned the number one Star or the
People's Choice winner at the 2019 “Swinging with the Stars”!

This year's Swinging with the Stars promises glitter, glamour and as always a touch of
unpredictability with a diverse group of local "Stars" set to hit the dance floor at The Barn in
June. The line-up for 2019 includes:

! Andrew “Roo” Orton, the practical joker from Padthaway who is hoping that farmers can
dance, even if his skills are rather agricultural!

! Primary school teacher Rob Francis, who is generally regarded as the worst dancer
amongst everyone he knows, but he’s keen to swap the blackboard for the boogie and
show his toughest critics, St Anthony’s year 4/5 class, that teachers can groove!

! Cellar door manager Kate Perry – will we hear her ROAR as she trades wine-tasting for
waltzing and raises funds for Stand Like Stone's Penola Coonawarra Wellbeing sub-fund.

! From calculus to choreography, Kingston Community School teacher Bryce Smith will
prove to be popular as he swoons like Swayze and steps out of his comfort zone!

! Millicent North Primary School teacher Emma Laucirica is hoping to unbridle her inner
Beyonce as she swaps places with the students and learns some new moves!

! She can deliver a baby, but can Elle Hood deliver the dance moves and bring home the
Title to the Hood household in 2019?

! Sharp shooting Liz Rymill is sourcing sequins and studying Simply Ballroom, as she
relocates from the rifle range to the rumba and channels her 12yo idol Tina Sparkle!

! And still basking in the afterglow, the 2018 Aria Music Teacher of the Year Scott Maxwell
has proven that he can play, write and teach music, but can this man of many talents
actually dance?

Kim Cella and Paris Ackland from Hype Dance will be teaching the stars their new moves and
with a diverse group of participants it is anticipated that there will be strong support from
around the region.

The "Stars" are dancing to raise awareness and funds for the Stand Like Stone Foundation,
the community foundation of the Limestone Coast. All funds raised for Stand Like Stone are
held in trust for the benefit of the region and the interest earned is granted back to the local
community through scholarships and grants for charitable projects. Since its establishment in
2004, Stand Like Stone has distributed over $1.3 million to charitable projects, school students
and educational scholarships, benefitting Limestone Coast communities. Swinging with the
Stars has raised over $617,000 for the region and continues to be a sought after event on the
Limestone Coast calendar.

Organisers are confident that Swinging with the Stars will be another huge success in 2019
and are expecting a sell-out at the Barn Palais on 22nd June.

Tickets will be on sale in May from Chapman’s Newsagency,
