Sydney Police Officer Kicked In The Face Trying To Arrest Teen
In serious condition
A Sydney police officer has serious injuries, after he hit his head on the road during a struggle with a teenager he was trying to arrest in Marsfield overnight.
An officer was patrolling about 10pm around the area of Balaclava Road and Epping Road when he came across the teen acting suspiciously, he stopped and approached him, when he allegedly became aggressive.
Backup was called, and as an officer tried to arrest him, it's alleged the boy kicked him in the face, and he fell backwards hitting his head on the road.
The constable suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital and remains in a serious condition this morning.
The 16 year old boy was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital under police guard for assessment.
