The Sydney Sixers have pulled off a miraculous victory in a Women's Big Bash League semi final that went down to a super over.

The two sides were all locked up at the end of their innings in dramatic circumstances.

The Renegades almost pulled off a miraculous win as a Sophie Molineux shot over backward point raced to the boundary with the Renegades needing three runs to win.

The ball was stopped by a diving Erin Burns on the boundary, keeping the Sixers alive, before Sarah Aley's throw came in.

With the Renegades attempting a match-winning third run, keeper Alyssa Healy flung the ball to the bowler's end, hitting the stumps and leaving Molineux just short of her ground.

The Renegades made six off their super over before Ellyse Perry - who'd made a half century earlier in the day - lofted a six over long on to see the Sixers into the final.

The Sixers will play the Heat, who defeated the Thunder by four runs in another last-ball thriller earlier in the day.
