Emergency services are currently attending to reports of a suspicious package in Liverpool, in Sydney's south-west.

The envelope with 'suspicious' contents arrived at the Consulate General of the Independent State of Samoa, with the premises evacuated.

Two people are understood to have touched the envelope, but it was not opened by staff.

HAZMAT teams have decontaminated the two people who touched the A4 package.

It is understood that police will now start testing the envelope, with ten people evacuated from the consulate as a precaution.
