Four men have been fined a total of $16, 000 for lying on their border declarations to get into Queensland on a superyacht.

They were caught sneaking out of Sydney’s covid 19 lockdown days after docking at Southport Marina on July 7.

Superyacht From Sydney Illegally Travels To Gold Coast:

After the group arrived on the Gold coast, they traveled to Brisbane to watch the Wallabies vs France test match at Suncorp Stadium.

The men were put into hotel quarantine and fined $4,000 each for fabricating false information on their declaration passes.

It has been reported that the combined $16, 000 fine, is less than it costs to rent the $4 million superyacht a day.

Luckily, the group only returned negative covid-19 tests and don't pose any threats to Brisbane and Gold Coast locals.

In the past week alone, Maritime Safety Queensland confirmed that the vessel was one of three detected in Queensland waters arriving from Sydney.

Whilst the other two vessels also copped fines, all boaties are now being warned to expect random compliance checks due to an increase in patrols on the maritime border.
