Tassie motorists will be affected by temporary lane closures across this week.

The closures are in place on the Tasman Highway from Thursday, 18 January to Tuesday, 23 January, for roadworks between the Hobart Airport and the Mornington off-ramp.

Motorists are encouraged to allow some extra time for travel through this area, particularly on Saturday, 20 January.

The Highway will be reduced to one lane near the Mornington westbound off-ramp extension project at the following times, to allow for removal of concrete barriers, asphalt sealing, and connection of the newly constructed lane to the existing highway:

- Thursday 18 January, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Friday 19 January, 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
- Saturday 20 January 7:30 am – 3:30 pm

Speed limit reductions will be in place for the duration of the works, with one further minor lane closure in coming weeks for linemarking.

Road resealing and linemarking works are also planned between the Cambridge Road Underpass and Holyman Avenue, both westbound and eastbound at the following times:

- Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 January, 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 January, 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

Reduced speed limits and occasional lane closures will be in place during working hours and the Government says these works have been scheduled during school holidays and outside peak times to minimise disruption to road users.

Road users are advised to obey all signs and plan ahead to allow sufficient time for travelling through the works.
