The murder mystery TV series The Kettering Incident hasn’t even screen in Australia yet, but has already won a top prize at a prestigious international festival.

The series, filmed south of Hobart, won the special jury prize for the gothic murder mystery at the seventh annual Series Mania festival in Paris, which celebrates the world’s best new TV series.

The Kettering Incident follows a doctor who returns to her home town after several years overseas, only to find herself at the centre of a mystery surrounding the disappearance of a young girl.

The series, starring Matt Le Nevez, Elizabeth Debicki and Sascha Horler, had its world premiere last June with the 2015 Dark Mofo festival in Hobart screening the first two episodes.

The full $14 million series is yet to screen across Australia, but is part of the national Foxtel schedule. In October last year the pay TV operator confirmed its highly anticipated new Australian drama series The Kettering Incident, would not air in 2015 as originally anticipated.

The 8 episode drama series was “rescheduled” with Foxtel saying the Kettering Incident would air no-earlier than February 2016. We are however still waiting for a confirmation on an airdate.
