A taxi driver has been clocked by Victorian Police travelling at ridiculous speeds.
According to a media release, the 36-year old man "was clocked at over 60km/h above the speed limit in Oaklands Junction yesterday."
Here is what the statement read:
State Highway Patrol members detected the taxi travelling north on Konagaderra Road, allegedly at 144km/h in an 80 zone just after 2pm.
The driver of the taxi, a 36-year-old Craigieburn man, was asked by police as to why he was travelling at such an outrageous speed, and simply replied “I’ve just got a job to go to”.
He was charged on summons with speeding offences, and had his taxi impounded for 30 days at a cost of $925.
The taxi driver will face Broadmeadows Magistrate’s court at a later date.
