Teenager Charged Following Cessnock Dart Attack

A 17-year-old been charged after a girl was allegedly hit in the face by a blow dart in the Hunter region over the weekend.
Police allege a 15-year-old girl was walking with four friends in Cessnock on Saturday night when a youth in a passing car discharged the object.
She was taken to Cessnock Hospital for treatment and transferred to John Hunter Hospital where she underwent surgery to remove a projectile from her cheek.
Hunter Valley Police District officers launched an investigation and charged a 17-year-old teenager with reckless wounding, and possessing or using a prohibited weapon.
He was been granted conditional bail and is due to appear before a Children’s Court on Tuesday December 11.
