Tasmania Police have released the name of a 17 year old girl who fell to her death on the weekend near Blowhole Road, Blackman's Bay.

The teenager, Margaret Mary LORE aged 17 years from Richmond, Tasmania, fell to her death from a high cliff just before midnight Saturday.

Ambulance officers rushed to the scene, but the teenager could not be revived.  The Police Vessel Dauntless also travelled to the sea below to render assistance.

Police Inspector Craig Joel said: 'A number of revelers were present when the teenager fell.  The group appear to have travelled to Blowhole Road from a nearby social party in Summerleas Road”.

It is understood the group who were present at the time assisted investigators compile the course of events that lead to the death.

Police are still seeking any information that might help investigators on Crimestoppers 1800333000.

As the site is a tourist area a better or higher fence has been ruled out by Police.
