Adelaide Crows co-captain Taylor Walker has admitted the team's contested ball work ins't up to AFL standard at the moment.

The Crows were smashed by Geelong in contested ball last Thursday night 148-115 as they slumped to their second home loss of the season.

And speaking to Roo & Ditts on Triple M Adelaide this morning, key forward Tex Walker admitted that contested ball was one of two areas of the Crows game that wasn't up to standard at the moment.

"I'll give you two things at the moment that aren't up to the required standard we set at the club," Walker said.

"And that's winning the contested footy and our pressure on the opposition isn't at the level.

"(We need to) Get the ball in our forward half, we pressure, we contest, we compete - and we play the game in our own half.

"And we're not doing that at the moment."
