The community will come together in the Town Square on Saturday, June 23rd, to say thanks to the volunteer firefighters and everyone else who responded to the recent Albany fires.
The City of Albany is hosting an event in the Town Square from 3pm to 6pm to show its gratitude for the outstanding efforts of its 16 bush fire brigades, and thank the businesses and individuals who provided invaluable support during the crisis.
There will be entertainment and fun for the whole family, with donation buckets at the event to raise funds for the fire brigades.
Some of the fire trucks that were used to fight the fires will be at the event for the children to see up close, and they will be able to meet some of the volunteer fire fighters.
For gold coin donation, children will be able to jump around on the bouncy castle or have their face painted, Jamie The Clown will bring a bundle of laughs, and the first 500 kids to the event will receive a free bubble wand.
The Albany Shantymen and The Beardless Hipsters will provide live music, there will be a free sausage sizzle and other food and coffee.
Go on! Thank the firies!
