The Shire of Coolgardie have their sights set on the reopening the Kambalda Airport... 

For a couple of years, the Kambalda airport has been closed but recently, the Shire of Coolgardie are wanting to get the facility up and running again, complete with flights and charters. 


Currently, the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder have a fully functional and successful airport that sometimes brings in more than eight flights a day from Perth and has a fairly reasonable capacity of over 100 passengers per aircraft. 


Since the news has come to light, there has been some debate as to whether or not this will benefit the community, or enable the fly in, fly out lifestyle... 

Glenney had a chat with the Mayor of the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder, John Bowler and Shire President, Malcolm Cullen about the ins and outs of the proposal...
