Keeping Up With The Buss's

"It's complicated" is one way to describe what's going on behind the scenes of the NBA's (arguably) most glamorous franchise.

But this power struggle is real, and now the lawyers are involved.

For decades the Los Angeles Lakers were guided by the steady hand of majority owner Jerry Buss.

But when the businessman died in 2013, ownership was passed to his children - Jeanie, Jim and Johnny.

By all reports the siblings don't get along.

Jeanie has had enough of her brothers' efforts to take over the team and insists her father made her "controlling owner" before his death.

Things got particularly heated when Jeanie sacked Jim from his role as Executive Vice President, accusing him of being unfit for the job.

The brothers returned fire, filing legal papers to have Jeanie dismissed as "controlling owner."

But she says she's dedicated to fixing the Lakers, hiring Magic Johnson to "turn around the damage done by Jim."

It's clear this bitter feud has a long way to go before it's resolved.

Lakers fans will be hoping the back room dramas don't spill onto the court.
