The final season of Game of Thrones will contain what writers intend to be the biggest battle in television history.

The show wraps up with its final season, set to be released in April 2019, and it looks like they're really going out with a a bang.

The actor who plays the Night King, Vladimir Furdik, told Hungarian news website Sorozat Wiki that the show has something extraordinary in the works for the show's farewell.

"In the third part of the last season, there is a battle that the creators intend to be the biggest in television history," he explained.

"Almost the full episode will be about the battle, it will take about an hour."

Furdik also wouldn't give anything away about who sits on the Iron Throne at the end of the series - as he probably ought to - but said a theory about it being Bran Stark would be "amazing".

"It would be an amazing surprise, but I can tell you that there will be no shortage in Season 8," he said.

"There will be a lot of dragons, the Night King will return, and the biggest battle of the season will be completed.

"It will be interesting to see what (show runner) David Benioff has found out for the big finale. But I cannot tell more about it."
