When the GOAT sledges you, there’s nothing you can do about it.

That’s what Sri Lankan cricketer Dhananjaya de Silva found out after Nathan Lyon set his sights on the struggling batsman.

However, it wasn’t to do with the GOAT’s bowling.

The Aussie No.10 has tallied 84 Test runs at 16.8 this season, but clearly fancies himself as a bit of an all-rounder.

De Silva hasn’t had a good time in Australia so far, registering scores of five and 14 in Brisbane.

“You’re just happy you’re above your average this summer,” Lyon jibed, as he handed his sunglasses to umpire Michael Gough.

“You’ve got a worse batting average than what I do this summer ... And you were meant to be a batter.”

De Silva retorted “What about you guys come to Sri Lanka?”

“At least I’ve won a series over there,” Lyon responded, winning the exchange.

Lyon, and Australia, got the last laugh, when De Silva pulled a short ball from Mitchell Starc onto his own stumps, being dismissed for 25.
