With ANZAC Day falling on a Sunday this year four sides will have the privilege to walk out of on the field after hearing a spine-tingling rendition of the last post. Few players in the NRL have the chance to participate in this game but Gordie Tallis is one and he’ll never forget what it meant to be a part of the day.

This evening on The Rush Hour Queenslander Tallis spoke of the immense pride in playing on the day having lined up for Australia against New Zealand. Especially after the pre-game speech the side copped from manager Chris ‘Choppy’ Close.

“You’re staying in a five-star joint, you’ve got room service, someone makes your bed and you’re representing your country - Blokes went away in the last fifity years to fight for our country in a rusty tin boat and khakis on – so you want to go out there and have a go today!”
