The good people at UnitingCare West are using the power of social media for all the right reasons, as they step up the fight to end the scourge of homelessness in WA and beyond.

Anyone with a social account is being encouraged to visit their Thunderclap page and allow a public post by UnitingCare West that will hit the virtual world at 10am, this Friday July 6.

You can support via your personal Facebook account, a Facebook page you might manage, your Twitter or your Tumblr account.

It takes no effort at all to register, indeed, it's a classic case of "set and forget".

The hope being that, at 10am this Friday, people's social accounts are bombarded with multiple messages raising awareness about how prevalent homelessness is in society these days.

According to UnitingCare West, more than 9,000 people are homeless in Western Australia on any given night. UnitingCare West's Tranby Centre provides support for up to 200 rough sleepers every morning, six days a week.

This winter, they're beginning the journey to Transform Tranby into a multi-purpose engagement hub, providing pathways for people experiencing homelessness towards a place they can call home.

The more people that post, the more chance UnitingCare West has of achieving their goal to transform Tranby.
