We're bracing for the worst, but just what is expected to hit us this weekend?

The Bureau of Meteorology say while we will see plenty of rain, it's not going to be what they first forecast.

60-70mms is expected to fall each day over the weekend, down from 100-200mm.

The Mulgrave River is still on flood watch- with more than 80 mm recorded in the past 24 hours which is now sitting up at 3.80 metres.

We love to stick it to Townsville with friendly (ok usually mean) banter but this wet weather has displaced hundreds of people.

An emergency declaration has been issued for a number of suburbs while it's schools out for the time being for the kids.

The Bruce Highway is also closed in a number of locations thanks to flooding.
